The journey begins with an early morning departure from Windhoek, heading toward the rugged beauty of the Palmwag Concession, arriving by late afternoon. This vast, remote area is sustained by freshwater springs, supporting a variety of wildlife uniquely adapted to the arid desert environment. The concession is home to healthy populations of dwarf antelope such as Steenbok and Klipspringer, as well as Hartmann's Mountain Zebra, Southern Giraffe, Gemsbok (Oryx), Springbok, and Kudu. More elusive creatures like the Small Spotted Genet and the inquisitive Black-backed Jackal may also make an appearance, while the antics of Ground Squirrels provide some lighter entertainment. Reptile enthusiasts can look forward to spotting species like the Kaokoveld Sand Lizard and Anchieta's Agama. The evening offers a well-earned rest before the next morning's early start on a five-night walking safari, immersing in the heart of this spectacular wilderness.
